Simple Royal Icing

Royal Icing Paint

An extremely sugary icing that dries very stiff! Used for attaching decorations or as it's own decoration. Often used to decorate cookies.

3 tablespoons Meringue Powder (32.25 grams)
1 pound Confectioners Sugar (454 grams - sifted, though I usually don't bother)
4 tablespoons Warm Water (59 ml - start with less in a hot/humid climate)

Beat all ingredients until icing forms stiff peaks (about 7-10 minutes at low speed).

  • Will store (though NOT in the refrigerator) in an airtight container for one month.
  • Make sure you use nothing (bowls/utensils) with residual grease on it when making or storing!
